      Walko Food Company Acquired Meemee’s Ice Creams

      Walko Food Company acquires Meemee Ice Creams to expand its presence in India's artisan dessert market and cater to evolving consumer tastes.

      Pune-headquartered ice creams and desserts brand Walko Food Company has bought Meemee Ice Creams. The strategic acquisition, which will give Walko a presence in the dynamic artisan dessert market of India, will add to its portfolio of innovative and handcrafted products.

      A fan base has already been established among Indian urban consumers, especially the younger generation, through its funky and high-quality products like Toasties, Ice Cream Cakes, Roley and Tubsters, which is based in Mumbai, India.

      With a strong infrastructure across more than 100 cities, Walko will be able to guide Meemee to tap the Indian ice cream market that is estimated to be worth Rs 44,000 crore ($5.33 billion) and has been recording a CAGR of ~11 percent since 2017.
