The first PizzaExpress was opened in Wardour Street, London in 1965 by Peter Boizot, who had drawn his inspiration from a trip made to Italy. Currently, over 400 PizzaExpress restaurants are present across the globe, which are serving signature handcrafted gourmet pizzas.

PizzaExpress was brought to India by Gourmet Investments Private Limited (GIPL), which is the F&B venture of Bharti Family office. The first PizzaExpress had opened in India in the year 2012 in Colaba, Mumbai. Today, it runs a total of 18 restaurants, which are present across 6 cities in India. GIPL intends to open 100+ PizzaExpress stores in the next few years.
PizzaExpress has opened its brand new outlet in Hyderabad!
PizzaExpress is known for its handcrafted gourmet pizzas, using the finest ingredients. It is available in two bases; one, the 1965 Original Traditional Pizza with the “Classic” Base and the other; the thinner, crispier “Romana” base inspired by pizzas from Rome. In addition to Pizzas, there is a healthy variety of Pastas and appetizers, along with delectable cheesecakes (available in 6 different flavours) and other desserts plus fresh Italian coffee which makes every PizzaExpress meal special.
Other speciality products include signature Dough balls served with a trio of dips & speciality Pizzas like Calabrese – our iconic rectangular Pizza (invented by the Michelin start Chef), Leggera – Pizza under 600 calories & Calzone – The folded Pizza.

Grab & Go Fresh: PizzaExpress has also recently launched Grab & Go Fresh as a part of their offering. This is the first brand in country which serves fresh Grab & Go. The Grab & Go items are made fresh every 4-6 hours to cater to people on-the-go, while majority of other brands serve chilled product. Also, the offering is unique to PizzaExpress as it’s inspired by Naples Street food and ties back to its Italian heritage. The menu offers “Pizza by the Slice”, “Piadina” – A traditional Italian Flatbread sandwich, “Napoletana Pizza – Classic Naples style Pizza – light, crisp & airy, along with Italian signature salads and an array of delectable cheesecakes and other desserts. The Grab & Go offering coupled their fresh Italian coffee makes a perfect meal for the on-goers.
