Family owned and operated, The Bridge S.R.L has hatched its first plant-based alternative to eggs. Veg Egg is launched in 500ml Pure-Pak® Sense aseptic cartons from Elopak and represents a market break through from The Bridge, an Italian pioneer in the plant-based beverage sector.

The Bridge was established in 1994 by the Negro Marcigaglia family in San Pietro Mussolino, a small mountain village in Northern Italy. After thirty years of game changing innovation the company has become well known for its focus on human well-being and the health of the planet by selecting only regional and natural ingredients to produce clean label products.

Today, The Bridge produces 100% organic plant-based drinks, desserts and cooking creams which are all lactose and cholesterol free. This is the first egg alternative product to be launched by The Bridge.

More than an alternative – a smart choice

“Veg Egg is a new way to use eggs and meets with growing trends as a new vegan option for consumers and catering trade. This is more than just an egg alternative, it is a smart choice for those who want to explore dietary or culinary options without compromising on taste, well-being or sustainability.”

“The ease of use and versatility of Veg Egg for a wide range of culinary uses, plus its food waste saving properties versus using traditional eggs, needed to be matched with convenient and sustainable packaging.

“Consumer convenience needs and sustainability goals are met with the carton from Elopak which is fully recyclable where facilities exist.”

Paolo Negro Marcigaglia, CEO-operations, The Bridge

The launch of Veg Egg results from the investment of a new aseptic filling line in partnership with Elopak in 2023. The E-PS120AH machine was installed at the San Pietro Mussolino plant supported by Elopak technical teams and is now fully operational producing the new Veg Egg products and receiving positive feedback from consumers and retailers.
