Food Tech Summit & Expo 2022 is the exhibition event for ingredients, additives, packaging and solutions focused on the food and beverage industry. It is the main event in Latin America with a differentiated face-to-face format. It contains the main suppliers in the sector, as well as first-hand news and the highest level of networking.

“We are delighted to participate again in FTS 2022 where we meet with colleagues, friends, customers and industry allies. In more than two years we have maintained virtual contact with our customers and business partners and now we will have the opportunity to see each other in person and let them experience our prototypes,” says Julián Galina, Regional Business Director, North of LATAM at Tate & Lyle.

For this event, Tate & Lyle will have a novelty, Chef Graciela Montano will be present at the stand to demonstrate live how the solutions fit together and can be used in real scenarios. The chef, who is the founder of Aura Mexican Cooking and Airbnb Global F&D Community Leader and Cooking, will work with the solutions that Tate & Lyle will bring to the event, promoting sugar and fat reduction, fiber fortification and texture. The prototypes are:

Chipotle-flavored vegan mayonnaise dressing

The growing trend of products made with alternative or plant-based proteins has been rapidly adopted around the world, growing steadily in Latin America and entering different categories. This mayonnaise substitute, made with ARTESA® chickpea protein, does not contain eggs and maintains its consistency and creamy texture, making it ideal for consumers looking for healthy alternatives without sacrificing flavor and texture.

Vegan coconut candy

After two years of the pandemic, consumers are eager to find pleasure in different areas of life, including food. This vegan coconut candy with a dulce de leche-like consistency made with CLARIA®, our clean-label functional starch and ARTESA® chickpea protein, is indulgent and promotes flavor and pleasure with excellent texture.

Grapefruit-yuzu flavor Hard Seltzer with no added sugar

Following the trend of low-calorie ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages, Tate & Lyle developed this refreshing, exotic-tasting beverage sweetened with DOLCIA PRIMA® Allulose and OPTIMIZER™ Stevia, which also contains STA-LITE® polydextrose fiber, with a sweetness tropicalized for Mexican palates.

Savory muffin with no added fat and a good source of fiber

Health, wellness, pleasure and the search for new experiences in flavors and textures are the basis for creating innovative bakery products. An “On the Go” concept with multiple benefits was created, using PROMITOR® soluble fiber and achieving a low sugar content thanks to the sweetener DOLCIA PRIMA® Allulose.

Plant-based chocolate custard with no added sugar

The Tate & Lyle team has also created a creamy vegetable chocolate custard with no added sugar, retaining the sensory characteristics of a 100% sugar custard. It is sweetened with DOLCIA PRIMA® Allulose and has CLARIA®, a non-GMO (clean label) tapioca starch.

Versatile low-fat culinary sauce

Culinary sauces are often used to add extra creaminess to dishes. This sauce has only 15% fat, which gives it great body and a lot of versatility in combination with different sides, sauces and vegetables, preserving the flavor and perception of fat without having all the calories. During the event, the sauce will be used in 3 different applications, an olive dip, a mango dessert and a creamy risotto.

“As consumers of food and beverages, our needs are changing and adjusting to our reality. There was already an increase in the search for healthier products and now with the pandemic, this awareness is a reality. However, we know that taste is the king, also for nutritional products and that is why in the industry we face the challenge of being able to offer products that are nutritious and rich in taste. With this in mind, Tate & Lyle, through food science, can offer solutions integrated products connected to the real needs of Mexicans. Those who visit us will be able to experience the interesting prototypes that we will offer to show the fusion between the rich and the nutritious in the same product”, concludes Julián Galina, Regional Business Director, North of LATAM at Tate & Lyle.
