In a video conference held, Union ministry of Rural Development and Farmers’ Welfare took part in and involved state Rural livelihoods missions across the country. Issue was to bring the SHG platform in the forefront for rural economic upliftment by converging different programs from different ministries. He thumbed on the DAY-NRLM program which supported the creation of SHG network comprising 66 lakh SHGs in which 7.14 rural women are included. Shri Tomar inspected and observed all the ministries present and their schemes in the workshop to device an integrated approach for the all round development of rural India. Also Farmer producers organisation will also be strengthened under the scheme.
The meeting was also addressed by Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda and Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Shri Arjun Munda laid emphasis on the new start taken by integrated ministries. He spearheaded the previous program ” Pradhan mantri van dhan yojana” and called up that this step will unite all the aspects and help villages and tribals to jumpstart as leading front.
Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that food processing is an integrated sector which will play for good incentives to farners. She earmarked the importance of safety and processing that can reduce the loss of agricultural produce as wastage. She laid emphasis on the proper food processing and concluded with schemes of MoFPI adjoining MoRD,MoTA so that effective production to meet the demand of population can be achieved.
A book release also happened of whose title was “Farm Livelihood Interventions under DAY-NRLM (Strategy, Convergence Framework, Models)” which will be a guiding light for all the related ministries in near futures to develop the suitable framework.
An MoU was signed between Ministry of Tribal affairs and Ministry of Rural development to take the integration that can be filler to the gaps and serve as bridge between the two ministries in devising a proper plan to fetch tangible results.

Renuka Singh Saruta, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Minister of State for Rural Development and senior officers of the Department of Rural Development, Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Department of Food Processing Industries and Department of Tribal Affairs were present.
DAY-NRLM has proved to be a perfect launch platform of rural women to lead and manage enterprises in both farm and non-farm sectors. Program has supported near about 169 producers Enterprises that has provided 2.78 women, their livelihood. Under non-farm enterprises Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP) has provided a niche in over 140 blocks and has supported almost 1 lakh new and budding enterprises.
Workshop discussed the all round possibilities to implement the programmes of newly convalescent unit of ministries. Main objectives decided for the new future were enhancing the competitiveness of existing microo-enterprises and strengthening and formalising the sector.
