SABIC has announced the official launch of its new ($220) million ULTEM resin manufacturing facility in Singapore. This marks the company’s first advanced specialty chemical manufacturing facility in the region producing the high-performance thermoplastic ULTEM resin. The new facility is a strategic move to support SABIC’s goal of increasing global ULTEM specialty resin production by more than 50%, responding to the growing demand from high-tech and manufacturing industries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan and China.
SABIC ULTEM Resin manufacturing facility opening was officiated by Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), Eng. Khalid H. Al-Dabbagh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SABIC, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, SABIC Chief Executive Officer, and Omar Al-Harthi, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Singapore.
Supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the new Singapore facility reinforces SABIC’s commitment to localizing a reliable supply of high-performance materials that support complex and demanding supply chain requirements.
