PepsiCo declared a new launch this week that amalgamates the feelings of all of those: Pepsi’s “Cocoa” Cola. The new offering from the soda and snack giant’s namesake beverage was made public as a small batch in the company’s test kitchen. As per a statement from PepsiCo, its taste feels like a mix of the classic soft drink, hot cocoa, with a touch of marshmallow. And its name may get or raise a laugh from soda aficionados who have taken sides in the cola wars.
There is nothing that can be more classic than hot cocoa on a chilly winter day, what can be better than to combine together the flavourful taste of a Pepsi with the delectable, wintery taste of chocolate and marshmallow, and hence surfaces the unique treat of Pepsi ‘Cocoa’ Cola.
This is the second distinct flavor Pepsi has made public in the last few weeks. Some times ago, it released Pepsi Apple Pie, which tastes like the classic dessert. The previous year, the company came up with a non-alcoholic sparkling rose-flavored cola. And in Japan, contemporary Pepsi flavors ranging from yogurt-tasting Pepsi White to bright pink Sakura were added to the portfolio.
But even though cocoa is a globally acclaimed flavor in winter, PepsiCo may have attempted to manufacture this beverage exclusively for the name. After all, there can’t be any better manner to mock Coca-Cola, its biggest soft drink opponent than making a Pepsi product that verbatim has got almost the same name.
