Nestlé Purina PetCare has declared an investment of aroung USD 450 million to set up a new factory in Eden, North Carolina, to fulfill the rising demands for its high-quality, healthy pet foods.
This expansion is part of a broader growth plan for Purina that began in 2019 with the splendid inaugural of the company’s latest wet pet food factory and distribution center in Hartwell, Georgia. The new Eden factory will unite with Purina’s network of 21 existing manufacturing sites across the U.S. and will start functioning in 2022.
The new factory in Eden, North Carolina will reinvigorate a former brewery, remoulding it into an innovative, technically sound pet food manufacturing unit.
Preliminary plans demand Purina to revamp the existing structure and establish leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina ONE , Purina Pro Plan, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets.
Purina targets to provide employment to more than 300 people at its new factory locale by 2024. It is also aiming to increase its use of third-party employment and local and regional economic growth. Majority of jobs profiles at Purina’s new factory site will include engineers, production operators, professional staff, and technical staff.
