MoFPI Releases Model Doc for supply of Processing Lines

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has recently published a model ‘tender document’ for supply, installation, commissioning of food processing lines for incubation centers under the PM FME scheme.

The Ministry has stated that the ‘tender document’ may be espoused by the host institutes of common incubation centers under the PM FME scheme, however, the host can include necessary changes adaptable to the institution’s requirement.

The model document essential for inviting tenders contains formats for date sheet, scope of work, period for supply of items, eligibility criteria, bidding procedure, evaluation procedure, general terms and conditions, arbitration clause, negotiations, applicable law and jurisdiction, and modification and withdrawal of bids and so on.

The food processing enterprises who desire to avail the benefits under the scheme can make use of this document for supplies in their respective units. The document is can be availed from MoFPI website and can be downloaded.

Introduced under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PM-FME) Scheme is a Centrally-sponsored scheme focussed at ameliorating the competitiveness of existing individual micro-enterprises in the unorganized sector of the food processing industry, encouraging formalization of the sector and bestowing support to Farmer Producer Organizations, Self Help Groups, and Producers Cooperatives along their entire value chain.

With an expenditure of Rs 10,000 crore over a period of five years from 2020-21 to 2024-25, the scheme visualizes to directly offer assistance to the 2,00,000 micro food processing units for providing financial, technical, and business support for up-gradation of existing micro food processing enterprises.

As per the ministry, a total of 4,707 applications were submitted under the scheme while 2,968 applications were received for one district and one product project. Moreover, 1,852 existing individual enterprises have applied for the scheme along with 2,854 new individual enterprises.
