MoFPI Postpones Explanatory Meetings Under PLI Scheme

The dates of the proposed ‘explanatory’ meetings under the production linked scheme for the processing sector have been extended by The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).

Recently, the MoFPI released an ‘Expression of Interest’ for taking the advantage of the incentives under Production Linked Incentive Scheme for the Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI).

The ministry had earlier fixed the timings for ‘explanatory’ meetings on 12th and 13th May, 2021.

The newly decided dates would be 17th May for category I & II at 11am and 2pm, and 18th May for category III at 11am.

The meetings will be organized virtually, reports the circular published by the Ministry.

The circular states- “Refer to the Expression of Interest (EoI) issued on 2.05.2021 vide which online applications were invited from prospective PLI beneficiaries for the Food Processing Industries. It was also intimated that an explanatory meeting with the registered applicant will be held for category I on 12.05.2021 at 2:00PM, for Category II on 13.05.2021 at 11:00AM and for Category III on 13.05.2021 at 3:00PM.

In this regard, this is to inform that the explanatory meetings (through video conferencing) for the registered applicants scheduled on 12th and 13th May, 2021 are hereby rescheduled as under: Category-I -17.05.2021 at 11:00 AM, Category-II -17.05.2021 at 02:00 PM and Category-III-18.05.2021 at 11:00 AM.”

According to the previous reports, the MoFPI has released an EoI and guidelines for applying for the PLI scheme for Processing Sector.

Invitations for the application were made under three categories of Applicants including Category-I: Applicants who are large entities and apply for Incentive based on Sales and Investment Criteria. Applicants under this category could undertake Branding & Marketing too. The other categories comprises of Category-II: SMEs Applicants manufacturing innovative/organic products who apply for PLI Incentive based on Sales and Category-III: Applicants who are applying solely for grant for undertaking Branding & Marketing activities abroad.
