Experience and Educational Requirements:
- 12-16 years of working experience in Complex Electrical Systems of chemical Plants, Petroleum Refinery, Ammonia/ Methanol Plants, power generation, marine industries, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field from reputed engineering institute
- Familiar with the content and application of US/IS Codes & standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable
- Knowledge of SLDs, Electrical Equipment knowledge, Lightning Protection, earthing and Earthing layouts, cable routing,
- Exposure to AutoCAD , SAP will be added advantage .
Roles and responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Basic & Detail engineering, Power Supply network and distribution, Equipment Sizing, Hazardous area classification, detail layout, earthing design, illumination design, cable network with schedule, RFQ of bought out items.
- The candidate shall review the interface of Electrical drawing like GA, Cable tray and Lighting Layouts, and prepare Cable Schedule and Interconnection schedule.
- Shall have hands on experience in Guiding drafting team for preparation of GA dwgs of Electrical Building, Cable tray layouts, earthing dwgs, Lightning Protection drawing, illumination dwgs, Power and control cable schedule, Interconnect summary etc.,
- Candidate shall have hands on experience in Estimation of BOQ for Cable Tray, Cable, Earthing, Lightning, Illumination items along with accessories
- Will have experience in major shutdown support, project work, plant operations and maintenance efforts.
- Ability to read understand single line diagrams, Schematic Drawings, GA Drawings, Protection Relay Logics programming,
- Familiarity with GIS / VCB s Switch Gear maintenance, Motor Maintenance, Transformer Maintenance, etc.
- Familiarity with Operation / Switching Activities of Generators, Auto Change over Panels, UPS, VFD s, Heat Tracing systems, HVAC Systems, thyristor-controlled heaters etc
- Familiarity with Electrical testing of Cables, CT s/PT s, Earthing Systems, Motors, Protection relays, etc.
- Knowledge of vendor contracts and knowledge of shop support in the region is desirable.
- Must be team oriented and have a willingness to learn and further develop technical skills.
- Working experience in Complex Electrical Systems of Oil Gas Facility, petrochemical or chemical Plants, Petroleum Refinery, Ammonia/ Methanol Plants, power generation, marine industries, etc
- Sound knowledge of hazardous area equipment selection and application
- Support Shop/Site during manufacturing for resolving site queries
- Support Vendors in query resolution and flag up issues on technical delays, expedite deliveries.
- Responsible for preparation of Electrical Load List, Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Schematics and Wiring Diagrams and also in modification and re-detailing on Electrical Design
- Experienced in Cable Sizing and Selection, Equipment Layout Design, Earthing & Lighting Protection Design, Short Circuit & Voltage Drop Calculations.
- Preparation of Technical Documents like Equipment Specifications/Datasheets.
- Preparation of Cable Tray/Conduit laying and installation drawings Ability to develop various substation and power distribution scheme single line diagram.
- Ability to develop/lead physical substation layouts and coordinate civil and mechanical disciplines.
- Substation design Scope of Work and specifications development.
- Perform preliminary studies for grounding, lightning protection, arc flash hazard, and other studies required for substation design.
- Experience in Design calculations for Transformer, Generator.
- Review of Vendor Drawings and Technical Bid Evaluation/Approval.
- Familiar with Codes and Standards : ISA, IEC, CSA, NEC(NFPA70).
- Familiar with Equipment Selection, Electrical Design Guidelines requirements around Electrical Area Classification in Chemical Industry.
