The Role:
The Shift Manager supports, leads and mentors Production Supervisors in various initiatives which include safety, quality, and production costs. You will collaborate across departments including Ag for raw materials (potatoes), Quality Assurance to ensure our products meet top standards, and Maintenance to ensure smooth production of equipment. You will lead McCain objectives regarding labor, line efficiencies, tag and rework, quality requirements, ingredient usage and supply standards, and bulk and held reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day to day production objectives and ensure communication of objectives.
- Maintain high product quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Ensure that adequate training in areas of management skills are provided for Shift Supervisors.
- Direct and consult with Supervisors on all process attributes, including time and temperature for equipment set up, raw product blends for color, defects and solids, personnel staffing, equipment capability and line capacity.
- Responsible for investigation and follow up of all quality complaints, possible product problems (including product safety), sanitation inspection problems, and cost variance problems.
- Responsible for all preparation, distribution, follow up and problem investigation on factory and corporate reports.
- Coordinate plant activities to obtain maximum efficiency for total facility.
- Create an environment that encourages BOS in your department.
- Play an active role in process improvement initiatives, employee training, utilization of SPC for process improvement and upgrading your current skill base.
- Update measurement requirements and procedures.
- Manage changes and promote a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in leadership position preferably in food processing
- BA or BS degree in Business, Management, or other related field
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and train others.
- Champion of Change
- Keep up with a fast-growing trends in food manufacturing and plan solutions for production
- Strong ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience in labor relations
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and represent the production department in a professional and positive manner
