Job Details
The Senior Electrician is in charge of inspecting, installing, repairing, and maintaining complex electrical systems and equipment. They mentor junior level team members to ensure all work performed adheres to the required safety, electrical, and building codes. The Senior Electrician may be required to install new components, maintain or repair existing components or inspect and identify electrical problems. These systems are typically designed to provide heat, light, power, control, signals or alarms for all types of building, structures, irrigation systems and premises
Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintenance of Priva and Paradox applications
- Assist the Energy team with the boilers as necessary, this includes any wiring issues and motor maintenance
- Assist with pack lines electrical issues/trouble shooting
- Assist the farm with installation of any new systems or machines that require electrical work
- Build control panels
- Responding to tickets that are sent from Connect Wise
- Obtaining permits and inspections as required per job. The Electrician must understand when permits and inspections are required and whether the ESA (Electrical Safety Authority) or CSA (Canadian Standards Association) must be involved
- Mange workload, prioritize urgent needs first
- Assist with projects, on and off site, as required
- Additional duties as required
Job Requirements:
- PLC Certification
- HMI Certification
- 3-year Diploma and Red Seal Certificate
- 309A Certification
- 442 Certification
- Priva experience would be an asset, strong computer skills are required
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation
- Must have great customer service and communication skills to work with the Maintenance Co-Ordinator, Supervisors and Inspectors that come by every 6 months
- Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Be able to take responsibility for own actions and work in a responsible manner at all times
- Mentor, train and guide junior level team members
- Participate in education upgrades as codes may change
- Must be able to distinguish colours to work with colour-coded wiring
- Clean drivers record, personal vehicle and valid drivers’ license is required
Workplace Conditions
- Regularly working at heights, in construction areas, greenhouse, warehouse, and coolers
- It can be very hot, humid, or cold in the greenhouse for most of the year
- There may be exposure to be bees and various pests
- Working outside with elements such as heat, rain, wind and cold weather in very bright or inadequate lighting conditions
- May be required to wear PPE depending on the job
- Working independently but also a team player
- Commitment to continuous learning and the willingness to keep up with new developments in the field
- The Electrician is required to report to work Monday-Saturday and is on call 24/7
