Purchasing Lead
As our new Purchasing Lead you will be responsible for a small team of purchasing experts in our Production Center in Winsted, MN. The team’s responsibility involves all purchasing areas related to production materials, components and equipment needed for delivery of projects and company operations. You will be responsible for driving local purchasing activities in this field, working together with different stakeholders to ensure supply of high-quality material at lowest possible price.
In your new role, you will work in close collaboration with the engineering, production, project managers, and the materials group, as well as accounts payable. As Purchasing Lead you will continually demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills under tight time lines while facilitating positive long-term supplier relationships and a positive team environment. This position will report to the Logiscs manager.
The position is based in Winsted, MN.
Tetra Pak is not considering applicants (Internal or External) who require International relocation to the United States.
What you will do
As Purchasing Lead you will:
- Drive sourcing, contracting and purchase to payment activities in compliance with Tetra Pak group policies and procedures and in line with supplier management strategies
- Identify cost saving opportunities and develop required plans to achieve them
- Implement global and local contracts
- Manage local supplier base
- Drive cost and spend follow-up with suppliers
- Drive and measure supplier performance
- Develop & maintain relationships with key stakeholders
We believe you have
- Degree in Purchasing, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years in purchasing, preferably with multi-national company
- Good experience with procurement processes, supplier management, contract management, competitive bidding, and market conditions
- Strong knowledge in supply strategy, cost analysis, planning, supplier management and fact-based negotiation skills
- Must have proven leadership experience in managing a team
- Result oriented
- Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
- Good networking skills with ability to build and utilize networks internal and external
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate
- Strong analytical skills
- Good communication and presentation skills – must be fluent in English
