Material Procurement Strategy & Insights:
Material strategy and insight team directly reports to the Material VP and has a dotted line report to the Head of Procurement strategy director. This team is responsible for deploying Strategy and Insight team capabilities into the material team. The Procurement central Insights Team serving as the nerve center of the Unilever global procurement organization. This team is responsible for enabling the procurement organization to design and deliver step-change across value chains, operating processes and tools, and business models. Key responsibilities include:
- Sensing, incubating, and enabling innovative ideas, new business models, and transformation programs for disruptive value creation across procurement teams.
- Creating and implementing standardized processes and data-driven results to ease operating effectiveness and drive better and faster outcomes.
- Developing and enabling procurement strategies with respective network VPs and portfolio and market teams based on strategic insights.
- Identifying, scaling, and spreading best practices across the global procurement organization, within and across teams.
- Facilitating rapid learning, capability development, and future-fit upskilling of our people.
Main Job Purpose:
To be a healthy forward-looking challenger, as well as a partner to the Packaging sourcing team, provoking and bringing new thinking. Key activities include:
- Facilitating the creation and updating of portfolio strategies and delivering analytics and guidance for negotiations and contracting, applying expertise and newly created playbooks, incorporating best-in-class solutions.
- Managing the insights creation from available data, based on a good understanding of the data architecture and guiding the mining process.
- Helping define and roll out strategic transformation programs using digital tools.
- Deriving value creation opportunities based on deep value chain expertise, supplier, competitor, and industry insights, as well as benchmarking and should cost modeling.
- Conducting supply and demand analysis in collaboration with the portfolio sourcing teams
- Drive competitive buying thorough PMI for packaging.
- Support Joy of forecasting and change management.
- Working closely with the team on identifying VCI opportunities and driving execution support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Standardized Processes: Create and implement standardized processes and data-driven solutions to ease operating effectiveness and drive better and faster outcomes.
- Procurement Strategies: Develop and enable procurement strategies with respective network VPs and portfolio and market teams based on strategic insights.
- Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on key performance metrics to ensure procurement strategies are delivering the desired outcomes.
- Packaging Innovation: Control initiatives to develop and implement innovative packaging solutions that align with sustainability goals and market trends.
- Market Insights: Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking to stay updated on the latest packaging trends and technologies.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings in packaging procurement without compromising quality or performance.
- Define S&I Agenda: Define the S&I agenda in BG/material team along with BG/material LT, including procurement strategy development and implementation.
- PMI Coverage and Insights: Drive PMI coverage, insights, interventions, and business adoption.
- Market Intelligence: Orchestrate external market intelligence needs for BG/Po1.
- Data Analytics Capability: Build transformational internal and external data analytics capability for BG/Po1.
- Complexity Reduction: Drive complexity reduction and design policy implementation.
- Negotiation Support: Plan and support portfolio negotiation board/forum.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with a focus on packaging.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and market trends in packaging.
- Leadership: Strong leadership, high pro-activeness in bringing positive changes, inspiring the existing status quo, and strong strategic thinking and influencing skills.
