Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operational Maintenance Technician is solely responsible for the maintenance of Ketler Farms properties, facilities, and equipment. Their primary responsibility is to troubleshoot and complete tasks such as building repairs and maintenance, property upkeep, equipment repairs and maintenance at our Greenhouse operations to maintain property standards while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspect, perform minor/major/routine repairs, and follow preventative maintenance on buildings, i.e., greenhouses, warehouses, bunkhouses; including, welding, replacing and repairing parts, basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
- Create preventative maintenance schedule, perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
- Inspecting and examining machinery, electrical and mechanical equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
- Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
- Ensuring guarding and operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications, and installations.
- Transfer equipment to the applicable site for maintenance to avoid contamination or safety hazards.
- Reading diagrams, blueprints, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance checklists, reports, and documentation.
- Obtain quotes, approval and PO’s for purchases and vendors.
- Coordinate with contractors and outside vendors in collaboration with the Operations Manager to support scheduling of equipment and facility maintenance and ensuring administrative duties are completed including detailed and accurate record keeping of services performed, supporting invoicing verification and processing.
- Snow removal and grounds upkeep when required.
- Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area.
- Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
- Other duties that may or may not fall outside of the scope of maintenance requirements defined by the company.
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of Greenhouse Maintenance experience would be an asset.
- Millwright, basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry knowledge, tool & die experience are an asset, welding experience is required.
- Experience using hand and electrical tools is required.
- Able to read and understand work orders, manuals, drawings, and other types of reports.

- Basic math abilities required.
- Forklift and heavy equipment experience an asset.
- Valid drivers license and personal vehicle are required.
