This position will be critical to the mission of the Walmart PCT Advanced Analytics team supporting the Sales, Supply Chain, Commercial and Advisor functions supporting the Walmart Inc. business across PBNA, FLNA and QFNA. The primary function of the role involves development and maintenance of performant and impactful dashboards that analyze omnichannel performance using LUM data, IRI data to measure performance of Walmart in the market and other data sources to drive business results.
Responsibilities
- Study, Analyze and understand business requirements in context to business intelligence.
- Design and map data models to map raw data into meaningful insights
- Utilize Power BI to build interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports with a focus on storytelling and driving action
- Understand the different types of audiences to cater to each segment with relevant and easily accessible information
- Be and expert in SQL query writing, and know about data integration, modeling and be well versed in good UI design
- Be knowledgeable in methods required to build performant dashboards for very large data
- Lead the end-to-end development of reports from requirements to release
- Juggle multiple projects and be able to manage the workflow within the team, while adhering to good practices in dashboard design
- Provide critical thought leadership to enhance organizational capabilities by utilizing a variety of data sets; work with business stakeholders to identify and execute on opportunities for enhancement
- Develop interactive visual reports, dashboards, charts, and measures with KPI scorecards using Microsoft Power BI desktop.
- Analyze, design, deploy, troubleshoot, and support Power BI solutions.
- Participate in user acceptance testing.
- Explore and implement ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with data scientists and architects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, informatics, statistics, engineering, or another quantitative field or equivalent from a college or university with IT focused specialization.
- 6+ years’ experience as a BI Developer or related experience in a global company with significant experience in hands-on technology delivery roles.
- Strong data analytics background with experience in developing use cases, deep understanding of managing data and generating insights through visualization.
- Background in custom build experience using Power BI Report Builder, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Tabular Editor, DAX Studio designing Power BI data models; including writing complex DAX, SQL queries and implementing role level security.
- Experience in working with large datasets (Billions of rows) to build data models for analysis.
- Ability to understand data modeling, data schemas (normalized, flat, star, snowflake, etc.), query optimization, query profiling and query performance monitoring tools and techniques.
- Basic Knowledge of programming in Python is an added advantage.
