The Role:
The Maintenance Supervisor ensures the safe execution of all maintenance and mechanical repairs for the Processing and Packaging Departments. You will oversee all facets of maintenance for maximizing operational potential for the entire factory operation. Using preventative maintenance programs and immediate repairs of failed equipment to minimize downtime. You will also manage and maintain all buildings, grounds, and industrial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise hourly employees (approximately 10 to 25 direct reports).
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in the preparation of and adherence to annual maintenance budgets.
- Trains, coaches, and holds direct reports accountable in a manner that assures maximum development and utilization of talent.
- Maintains and improves employee and plant productivity.
- Provides scheduled appraisals of all direct reports.
- Develop a strong safety awareness and consciousness within the Maintenance Department.
- Ensures that the Maintenance Department is in compliance with safety programs and shop audits.
- Oversees the execution of planned and scheduled work, including auditing performance and quality of work.
- Works with contractors as needed to execute necessary work
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Maintenance background, trade experience a plus, “Jack of all Trades”
- Leadership in form of a team lead or supervisory role is preferred
- Technical knowledge of production equipment, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and familiarity with machine shop and tools, maintenance, and construction priorities.
- General understanding of factory operations, including raw product systems, processing, packaging, and palletizing.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- High degree of autonomy and the ability to effectively perform complex and technical tasks.
Previous experience that might be an asset in this role include the following titles: maintenance team lead, maintenance technician, electrician lead, maintenance supervisor, Maintenance leadhand
