Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job
HUL’s consumer tech team manages digital platforms for India’s largest brands like Lakme, Pond’s, Surf, Dove, Tresemme with millions of consumer interactions and thousands of orders every day. We drive some of the most innovative projects in the world in fields like Direct2Consumer Tech, CX design, adtech, martech, beautytech, chatbot and Machine Learning.
We are looking for enterprising Managers who are passionate about shaping the this rapidly evolving consumer landscape in India and lead some pioneering industry redefining initiatives.
The role of UniOps-in-Market IT Manager – ConsumerTech is to collaborate with Brand teams in their digital journey, understand ever evolving technological landscape in the digital space and competitive landscape across different business categories to drive tech capabilities and innovations in verticals like direct2consumer, digital marketing and ecommerce.
Key is to understand in depth of MarTech Platforms, Marketing function, Digital Marketing, Content Management, E-Commerce and lead targeted, frugal experiments and innovations for realizing the growth needs for our brand teams.

Main Accountabilities
The Key role of the IT Manager is to partner and deliver key IT capabilities in marketing and consumer tech
Within area of responsibilities*, the IT Manager will:
BUSINESS PARTNERING
- Drive implementation of capabilities in areas of Beautytech, Martech, AdTech, Conversational commerce, multiplatform implementations
- Manage Business requirements (demand) in line with Standard / Structured ways of working with business partners
- Engage with business teams within his/her area of responsibility to communicate and scope the IT plan aligned with overall IT plan on Local and global projects
- Play the role of “conscious keeper” on all new / existing changes in his/her area of responsibility
- Drive business benefits / value realization on all key IT projects and changes as envisaged in business case
TECHNOLOGY & DELIVERY
- Undertake activation and management activities for direct2consumer platform including design, development, Devops and business partnering
- Lead a team of Tech vendors and consultants to convert the brand requirements into tech reality
- Look for apps, SaaS platforms, partners and plugins to enhance the performance of platforms
- Define, manage and drive continuous improvement of IT budget & costs for area of responsibility
- Work with local platform partners for ensuring key technical KPIs, upgrade agendas landing with no loss to business uptime
- Share and implement best practices across Unilever countries in his/area of responsibility
RESILENCE & COMPLIANCE
- Align with Unilever standard operating practises like DevOps, CXX, Privacy risk assessment, GDPR/PRPB governance & compliance framework
- Support Execution of 1P compliance and Cybersecurity initiatives within area of responsibility

Relevant Experience
Essential:
Relevant IT Skills and business process understanding in the area of E-commerce and Digital Marketing
Desirable:
Management degree or similar qualification, proven track record in delivery of IT projects in similar industry and similar application landscape. Good proficiency in Marketing processes and DDM & E-commerce ecosystem, combined with Working knowledge on Consumer Technology products (e.g. Adobe Product Offerings, Shopify).
