OB PURPOSE:
As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable SAP Master Data Expert, to serve as the Global Functional Data Owner for the Manufacturing & Material (primarily, Indirect Materials) master data domains during our SAP S4/HANA implementation. In this critical role, you will lead the transformation from current (“as-is”) to future (“to-be”) state, identifying and driving harmonization opportunities, standardizing data models, unifying process and technology, and overseeing data migration. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and alignment with business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
All responsibilities are centered around the Manufacturing & Material master data domains:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the respective domain(s), including but not limited to: data structure, data governance, data management, data cleansing, data migration etc.
- Own domain(s) end-to-end.
- Lead the design of the future global data model and data orchestration process.
- Document future data model and data orchestration process (incl. standard operating procedures), business and data quality rules, definitions and standards.
- Define and establish data governance policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders within and outside of the project to identify potential data harmonization opportunities.
- Steer data migration scope definition, transformation and enrichment.
- Direct data profiling & data cleansing activities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business and external partners to ensure seamless data migration execution.
- Co-deliver the data migration workshops.
- Partner with regional SME (subject matter experts) to ensure adherence to global data model during deployment.
- Supervise conversion data documents and any other data migration artifacts.
- Oversee data validation and reconciliation processes as part of data migration cycles.
- Analyze relevant defects during test cycles and cutovers, translate them into actionable items (e.g. new or updated data transformation rules, data selection criteria, data enrichment etc.).
- Develop and conduct key user trainings.
- Proactively address any risks associated with data cleansing and migration.
- Provide regular reporting and status updates to stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress, milestones, and any potential issues or challenges. Foster open communication channels to facilitate transparency and collaboration.
- This role will exist in its current form for 2.5- 3 years.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in master data management(respective domain), with a focus on data process, data governance and data migration within the large multinational CPG company, preferably in the context of SAP S4/HANA implementations.
- Experience in identifying and implementing data harmonization opportunities to drive process efficiency and standardization.
- Broad understanding of business process and associated data.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to data management and governance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office solutions, including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint, leveraging these tools to facilitate communication, collaboration, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across business and technical functions to achieve project milestones.
- Excellent proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical data solutions and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with data cataloging, cleansing and migration tools and techniques, as well as metadata management principles.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to data migration.
- Strong track record of driving change and innovation, with the ability to think outside the box and embrace an agile and growth mindset.
- Result-oriented with a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel globally to support market-specific requirements during design, build and deployment of the project.
