The Role:
McCain Foods is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Design team, Big Fry. Reporting to the Senior Packaging Designer, the successful candidate is a motivated and organized individual who cares about design as much as we do. If you are enthusiastic, have a passion for design and layout, and the desire to create and execute experiences that people have never seen before we would love to hear from you.
While a core component of this role is supporting McCain’s packaging design needs, this individual will also work on a wide range of projects, from web banners to full cross-media campaigns and will collaborate with our other Designers and help drive cost-avoidance, speed to market, and brand consistency through creative support and industry expertise across the North American Business.

On a day-to-day basis, in a compelling and fast paced environment, the Graphic Designer will:
- Design, rollout and coordinate Retail & Foodservice Packaging Design
- Work with prepress and print vendors to ensure timely delivery of material
- Work with Sr Packaging Designer to manage timelines effectively
- Design, produce and manage sales & marketing assets effectively, on time and on brief
- Work with the Big Fry Team to develop the visuals for campaigns, projects, and promotional events
- Work closely with Digital Team to execute digital assets
- Execute cross channel designs and assets
- Collaborate with the Marketing teams to ensure that all designs align with the brand standards and meet the usability requirements
- Share ideas and work as part of a team to bring marketing ideas to fruition visually.
Your Qualifications:
- Completed undergraduate degree from a BA graphic design program (or similar)
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Graphic Designer
- Competent in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Acrobat, Lightroom etc.)
- Solid layout and typographic skills
- Experience developing visual language, concept sketches, presentation decks and style guides
- Knowledge of Packaging Development Process
- Knowledge of litho and flexo printing methods
- Experience working closely with agencies to ensure that all executions are on-brand
- The ability to interpret design briefs and present work based on design rationale (accepting of feedback)
- The ability to communicate clearly with good organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work quickly with tight deadlines
- Designing for digital channels (websites, social media, linkedin post etc.)
- Digital Asset Management experience is a plus
- CPG experience considered an asset
