Finishing Operator
We are seeking a Finishing Operator to be responsible for operating equipment in the slitting, doctoring and palletizing areas. In this position, you will need to understand and follow all safety, quality and finishing area procedures and communicate with the lead for decision making on quality and productivity needs.
What you will do
- Inspect incoming coated stock for damage and proper paperwork.
- Make timely and correct entries in data recording system.
- Properly prepare splices from roll to roll with a greater than 96% success rate.
- Perform labeling of finished reels accurately.
- Properly prepare material coming off the Slitter for transport, including removal of quality samples.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare splices, load rolls and unload reels in a safe manner.
- Proactively maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Understand and be able to perform all Quality Control checks without assistance.
- Ability to train all the functions to less experienced personnel.
- Participate in (and/or lead) teams in support of World Class Manufacturing initiatives to address and improve deficiencies.
- Operate around heavy equipment in a safe and reliable manner.
- Recognize equipment issues; take necessary corrective action, including shutting the machine down and requesting equipment maintenance and/or support.
Who you are
- High School Diploma or GED Preferred
- Prior production/manufacturing machine operation experience preferred
- Basic machine maintenance skills
- Quality inspection and machine systems handling
- Intermediate computer skills
- Dependability and reliability
- Basic math skills, basic reading comprehension
- Ability to read, understand and comply with work directions, training manuals, safety rules, standard operating procedures, and World Class Manufacturing processes
- Must be available to work 12 hours shifts of 36 hrs/week and 48 hrs/week from 7:30pm-7:30am
