We’re looking for an experienced CSR Impact Manager to lead our long-term, internal and external CSR strategies for the THG Nutrition division. You’ll be dedicated to driving us forwards in our mission to promote positive change; helping us remain accountable to our causes and relevant to our audience.
The role will focus on three key pillars relevant THG’s nutrition division and its brands; diversity & inclusivity, sustainability and mental health.
We’ve made some good progress across these areas with a number of projects underway, however there is a lot more to be done with consideration around developing a wider strategy that integrates with group efforts.
With this in mind, we’re looking for a strategic individual capable of prioritising, joining up the dots and delivering a robust over-arching plan which tracks our progress and builds out solid tangibles for us to be proud of.
This new role will act as the lynchpin across the divisional teams/brands, therefore the ability to project manage complex social, environmental and economic impact related projects, with a high level of organisation will be key.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Manage relations with SLT and internal staff to ensure nutrition division wide engagement in sustainability issues from the top down (aligning with THG central teams).
- Keeping up to date with key developments and best practice relevant to our and industry and within our CSR pillars.
- Taking responsibility – to assess, analyse and collate environmental performance data and reporting information for internal staff, senior management, clients and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and corporate reporting and keep up to date with UK, European Union and international regulation and legislation.
- Writing, producing and presenting regular communications on our D&I and CSR programmes to promote understanding and increase employee engagement across the division.
- Working closely with the central PR team to brief any comms which my directly or indirectly affect the division’s reputation. This could include ethical supply, animal welfare, inclusion & diversity, and plastics.
- Regularly reviewing and proposing strategies to address various environmental concerns including energy use, conservation, reduction of pollution, recycling, building and facility design, and general education on sustainability (in collaboration with relevant teams).
- Providing insight, support and direction for all the groups and committees within the division and THG centrally.
- Project manage initiatives from conception through to delivery across our pillars – briefing our Studios team where assets are requires and working with channels to ensure they’re we’ll optimised and on brand.
Requirements
- Proven track record of operating as a sustainability or environmental manager in a previous role that demonstrates performance improvement.
- Experience utilising marketing channels to communicate CSR programmes to audiences.
- Technical expertise and industry awareness on CSR, sustainability, reporting, legislation, latest trends, innovation, and best practise in the retail industry.
- Ability to show tact and diplomacy when dealing with highly sensitive issues – experience supporting with external comms where needed.
- Practical understanding of current and emerging environmental and sustainability business issues.
- Applied understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework in relation to corporate environmental and sustainability reporting.
- Applied knowledge of the challenges to be overcome when integrating environmental and sustainability reporting measures into existing business systems.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships with lots of different people.
