Business Development Manager
The primary role of Business Development Manager is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, participating in industry forums and through other means of generating interest from potential clients. Strategic planning is a key part of this job as it is the business development manager’s responsibility to develop the Right Pipeline of new businesses and develop the right Value Proposition for prospects. This requires developing a thorough knowledge of the categories we operate in, our customer’s value chain, consumer needs and Tetra Pak’s value offering as compared to our competitor’s solutions and services.
The position will report into Key Account Director, South Asia Markets, and will be base in Pune primarily focussing on prospects in that region.
What you will do
As our Business Development Manager, you will;
- Map, prioritize and pursue business opportunities with new customer prospects with focus on category growth and portfolio deployment in line with tetra Pak market strategy
- Develop and drive execution of business development plan aligned
- Business development execution with customer management during start up phase and handover to account management teams after successful acquisition
- Work jointly with other internal stakeholders in Marketing, Technical services, Finance, Processing to develop proposals that meet the prospects needs and objectives
- Customers, Food industry network, Customer network, trade show
- Market Intelligence: Providing inputs to Sales and Marketing through market/ customer and consumer insigh.
Who you are
We believe you have –
- Graduation and post-graduation(MBA) on Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or Engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Account Management, focusing on sales and customer management, with experience in carton packaging and processing business segment, FMCG Experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with strategic mindset and analytical skills
- Target driven: a self starter & hunter by DNA with strong focus on target achievement
- Negotiation skills: agility to structure and use a variety of styles to persuade and negotiate successfully
- Value based sales approach with sound techno-commercial acumen
- Strong communication and presentation skills with MS office proficiency and very good command on English language
- Good networking skills and experience of dealing with C-Level executives across functions
- Process and result oriented
- Intermediate financial skills required
