Design & Technology:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy and collaborate on the safety agenda aligned with Unilever’s objectives.
- Create a detailed roadmap for safety and security initiatives, including transformation projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments to ensure an integrated approach to safety and security.
- Communicate program objectives and progress to senior leadership.
Technology Integration:
- Evaluate and recommend advanced safety and security technologies.
- Oversee the integration of these technologies with existing systems.
- Support the digital agenda by contributing to the deployment of WPS technical solutions to meet Safety and Security goals.
- Stay updated on advancements in security technology and recommend their integration where appropriate.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance facility security and occupant safety.
Change Management:
- Lead change management efforts for new safety and security protocols.
- Provide training and awareness programs.
- Facilitate new ways of working to drive the safety and security agenda in a connected digital external environment.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with key safety and security suppliers.
- Actively manage our key Security supplier performance by data collection, data analysis tool creation, and frequent communication with our key stakeholders.
- Work closely with supplier partners to ensure program alignment.
- Liaise with security vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure alignment with security standards.
- Manage contracts, service level agreements, and performance evaluations.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the budget for safety and security initiatives.
- Allocate resources effectively.
- Operational Safety and Security:
- Assist the Workplace Global Sustainability, Safety & Security Lead to deliver the ambitious WPS Safety and Security Workplan.
- Coordinate several improvement projects alongside day-to-day operational support to the business.
- Update UniOps global standards and policies to meet Safety and Security requirements (Travel, Events, and Fleet).
- Offer project management and administration support to the Workplace Global Sustainability, Safety & Security Lead to ensure clarity in project objectives and delivery.
- Focus on office safety & security performance, infrastructure, service delivery, technology, and innovation.
Capability Building:
- Help embed a safe & security culture throughout WPS, 800+ FTEs & 6000+ contractors globally across all offices, R&D, and supply chain facilities.
- Provide Safety & Security support, advice, and expertise to the WPS operational teams in Unilever across the global regions in accordance with company procedures and agreed objectives.
- Ensure consistent understanding and deployment of global Safety & Security framework and standards.
- Communicate safety & security updates, policies, and procedures to employees and stakeholders.
- Champion safe and secure behaviour, contributing to reducing incidents and supporting the delivery of the Growth Action Plan (GAP). Participate in pilot studies/projects to ensure integration of safety and security requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate the learning and capabilities topics on safety and security with the workplace community (e.g. Community of Practice sessions).
Collaboration:
- Support the Zero Harm to People Offices Expertise Platform by content creation, updating relevant standards, and knowledge and expertise sharing, collaboratively moving the needle towards better SHE and WPS collaboration.
- Work closely with facility managers, HR, legal, and IT departments to ensure a holistic approach to safety and security.
- Liaise with the regional Service Delivery community to ensure the Safety & Security of our people, information, and property.
- Drive enhanced compliance and governance for Safety and Security within WPS.
- Help risk profile our global workplace portfolio for safety and security to inform levels of protection required.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Science / Business / Technical discipline).
- Solid evidence of previous experience in Occupational Safety (+ ideally security) within an FMCG / technical / FM environment is a plus.
- Confident, effective communicator and trainer.
- Good networking skills and collaboration across international environments.
- Experience in change management and training for technology implementations.
- Excellent Computer skills – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
- A highly organized individual with project management experience.
- A self-starter able to quickly understand the market and network effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to evolving security trends and implement innovative solutions.
- A passion for the profession, working to keep people safe and secure.
- Fluency in English – A second or third language would be a plus.
