Strategic:
- Providing leadership and functional excellence in Global Health & Wellbeing
- Provide advice and guidance to Business Leadership on specific public health, occupational health, and health care related issues.
- Enhanced speed of response in dealing with potential global public health issues like Covid, SARS, Avian flu, and other communicable diseases.
- Budgetary controls – advising the country of the resources needed in Global Health & Wellbeing.
- Identifying and selecting such resources in conjunction with local HR
- Design Preventive and Promotive Health initiatives
- Providing quarterly feedback to the Chief Medical Officer, South Asia/ Regional lead GH&W and other business / function leaders about the Key Performance Indicators.
Operational:
- Clinical Care for employees in Head Office
- Lead the Health matters for Senior Executives including hospitalisation, clinical care etc.
- Provide Oversight to Medical teams at designated sites to :
- Implement standardized occupational health programs under the realm of Health Protection viz. Enzyme handlers occupational health, improving workplace ergonomics and other such programs.
- Implement standardized occupational health programs under the realm of Health Promotion viz. delivering the Healthier-U program, mental well-being programs, advice on lifestyle related diseases, travel health, and prevention of psychosocial stress.
- Engage with Business partners HR and SC to help roll out GH&W programmes.
- Ensure appropriate systems for emergency care for all employees.
- Guide Case Management programme for the site.
- Support the healthcare need of the eligible retired employees.
- Ensure proper medical record management (Electronic / Paper copy) in accordance with the Country and Company norms.
- Manage paramedics for the implementation of the Health & Wellbeing initiative.
The person would be expected to have the following competencies

Requires to be proficient at a high level for complex problem solving. Examples include:
- Activation of pandemic preparedness and crisis management plans.
- Providing expertise and specialist support for management of complex clinical cases amongst all employees.
- Technical expertise and advice on risk assessment and control to strengthen health protection at the workplace. This is particularly relevant in enzyme surveillance which has a direct impact on Unilever’s liability and corporate reputation.
- Ergonomic intervention – to enhance health and productivity.
Change Management:
- Putting in place innovative practices to safeguard health of employees (across health promotion and health protection).
- Analysing market potential for Global Health services, constantly evaluating options for provision of cost-effective health care.
Qualifications and Experiences
Medical Doctor degree and expertise in Occupational Health.
Preferably a master’s degree in Occupational Health and/or Health Management.
