Your responsibilities and tasks:
Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Complete monthly closing and reporting activities, under the direction of the GEA Systems North America Accounting Supervisor, including:
- Preparation of analysis to support monthly and quarterly reserves and accruals
- Calculation and preparation of general ledger entries
- Reconciliation of intercompany activity
- Balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations
- Assist with tax and statutory entries and reporting
Coordinate with Shared Services team to facilitate transactional processing, timely billing and accurate financial records
Coordinate with the Systems Financial Reporting Leader to:
- Ensure data is accurately loaded into GEA’s reporting tools
- Research key account variances, providing meaningful explanations and actionable recommendations, where applicable
- Complete ad hoc analysis of key business activities and general ledger accounts
- Assist with data gathering and analysis for strategic initiatives
- Provide operational support to supply chain and production facilities through analysis of inventory accounts, labor and overhead absorption and other operational activities.
- Continually improve close and reporting processes to increase efficiency, effectiveness and process sustainability
- Reduce waste by automating repetitive tasks through the use of available systems and Office tools
- Establish constructive relationships within the North America Finance Team and with applicable Business Partners
- Provide accounting expertise to assist others in understanding financial information
Continually develop industry and company knowledge as well as project management skills and technical expertise
Your profile and qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - 3+ years of progressive responsibility in any of the following functions: finance, accounting or audit, demonstrating the ability to execute complex analysis, prepare comprehensive, clear, concise and action-oriented reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or Finance, demonstrating a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial analysis principles (IFRS knowledge a significant plus).
Strong working knowledge of ERP/Financial Systems & Applications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills required.
- Microsoft Dynamics or SAP (preferred).
- Access or other multi-dimensional analysis experience (able to build a relational database and queries) a plus.
- Strong data analysis experience, demonstrating the ability to understand business needs, obtain & validate data, interpret results, root cause anomalies and generate meaningful results.
- Percentage of Completion Accounting Experience (strongly preferred).
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
- Finance or accounting professional certification, such as a CPA is a plus.
- Solid time/project management skills and demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Travel Required: Minimal (5%).
