SUMMARY
Person in this position will be working with managers, supervisors, mechanics, technicians and operators within and outside the maintenance department. This position will focus on current and future work. All PM’s and work orders are to be in the ready to work status, ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, maintain good housekeeping practices, adhere to corporate procedures for equipment repairs and enter work history into CMMS. All work must meet 100% safety compliance and assist in schedule development with maintenance supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Upholds all McCain safety rules and regulations.
- Follows all safety and regulatory standards set by state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Utilizes the CMMS System to complete daily workloads and work orders for planned maintenance work.
- Attends and participates in all annual, departmental, and job specific required training and monthly informational meetings.
- Communicates any problems or changes in department appropriate personnel.
- Helps to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.
- Orders necessary repair materials for work requests and work orders.
- Prioritizes schedules and coordinates daily maintenance activities in assigned areas.
- Work with plant operations to coordinate scheduling of plant shutdowns for maintenance work completion.
- Provide estimated time and costs for planning purposes.
- Assists in providing training of employees in the department including the development of SOPs.
- Plans workload consistent with support for all activities underway in the area of responsibility and makes provision for alternate tasks when roadblocks are met.
- Demonstrates comfort with computer software to develop charts and spreadsheets and reports on department performance.
- Works in a safe manner and utilize personal protective equipment and observe safety measures including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures to insure personal and safety of others.
- Documents work resulting in changes to machine function and repairs of a machine in logs using computer-tracking system.
- Serves as a team player assisting other mechanics and technicians to carry out their duties.
- Operates and understands the function of a forklift.
- Communicates problems or changes in department to manager, supervisor and appropriate personnel.
- Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation.
- Keeps area clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Helps to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.
- Participates in continuous improvement and the MCE Processes.
- Able to take on and complete large projects outside normal job scope.
- Understands, develops, and tracks department KPIs within CMMS as dictated by upper management.
- Must adhere to the McCain Code of Conduct.
- The employee may be required to successfully complete the orientation and training provided during the first ninety- (90) days of employment.
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
- Responsibility to monitor work areas, watch for suspicious behavior and report any concerns regarding unidentified visitors and/or unauthorized personnel.
- Authority to question and take appropriate measures regarding the safety of themselves, other employees, products, and equipment.
- Responsibility of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the food processing facility, especially where any raw or finished product is produced.
- Authority to report and/or eliminate hazards to the safety of the food that is produced in the facility.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of Associates degree (A.A. or A.S.) from two-year college or technical school or certifications, or license(s), demonstrating superior knowledge and skill or 6 to 10 years of experience in specific area of maintenance field.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs and charts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations. Ability to speak effectively to express appropriate verbal/nonverbal messages, explains concepts, and actively participates in discussion.
CERTIFCATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid State Driver’s License if operating company vehicles.
- Valid McCain Foods Forklift Operator’s License.
- Must have supply of Lock Out Tag Out identification cards.
- Maintenance Certifications or licenses preferred and strongly recommended
