Jaiprakash R. Salunke Dandegaonkar was concordantly selected as the president of the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories (NFCSF) Limited at the Vertex Sugar Body’s 214th Board of Directors’ meeting. Dandegaonkar replaces Dilip Walse Patil, who resigned from the concerned post after being elected as the Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra State Government.
Dandegaonkar has previously worked as the State Minister of Cooperation and Textile in the Government of Maharashtra. He has also served for several years in public service especially for the development of sugar sector and is the present chairman of the Maharashtra State Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation Limited, Mumbai. He is also the founding father of Purna Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Limited, Distt-Hingoli, Maharashtra. As a senior leader of the Cooperative Sugar sector, Dandegaonkar has worked importantly towards the progress and evolution of Indian Sugar sector, one of the few heavily controlled Indian industries. As a senior Director of NFCSF, he has been espousing for dynamic reforms in the sugar industry.
After being elected as the president, Dandegaonkar declared- “I am grateful to the Directors of the federation for giving me such a big duty to lead the federation. I promise all Directors and members of the federation to offer an efficacious voice to the Indian cooperative sugar sector. I will serve with central and state Governments and other stakeholders to smoothly run the effective resolution of several issues that are confronting the cane growers and cooperative sugar millers such as- suitable MSP, lowering huge cane arrears, framing suitable modalities for well-timed payment of FRP, well-timed market/export assistance, intensification of sugar mills etc. I will also work with the Board of Directors to advocate for a customized financial package to improve the general, financial and commercial efficacy of cooperative sugar mills across the country.”

I feel that, under his leadership, the federation will come up with a novel sense of zestfulness and commitment to establish a robust and vivid cooperative sugar industry across the nation,” asserted Dilip Walse Patil, Minister of Excise and Labour, Government of Maharashtra and Former President of NFCSF.
Ketanbhai Patel, vice-president, NFCSF commented- “At present, the sugar industry is passing through a harsh phase and NFCSF has a central role in supporting the next growth phase of this sector. I am assured that, under Dandegaonkar leadership, NFCSF will play a vital role in accomplishing it.”
