Hill Zill Wines, a Maharashtra-based boutique winery and resort, and the manufacturer of Fruzzanté – one-of-its-kind sparkling alcoholic beverage, has launched its premium honey mead brand called Arkä in Karnataka.
Arkä, meaning extract in Sanskrit, is made using extracting honey from beehives. The sourced honey is fermented and presented as Mead – a drink that has been mentioned in ancient scriptures dating back to 100 BC.
After its successful launch in Goa and Maharashtra, the brand is now available for sale in Karnataka. The premium range of the drink is priced at INR 1,050 for a 375 ml bottle of Arkä Wildflower Honey and INR 1,095 for Arkä Rose.
The raw material used in Arkä has been sourced sustainably and turned into dessert mead in flavors of wildflower honey and rose to delight the connoisseurs in Karnataka.
Over the past few years, Karnataka has emerged as a prominent market for alcoholic beverages. Bengaluru’s emergence as a global IT hub has brought a cosmopolitan and aspiration lifestyle to the city, and the state at large
The financial independence and amalgamation of global lifestyles make Karnataka a high-potential market for a product like Arkä. The launch of Arkä is a strategic move by Hill Zill Wines at expanding its footprint across key markets in India.
Commenting on the launch of Arkä in Karnataka, Priyanka Save, Founder & Managing Director, Hill Zill Wines, said, “Arkä is a premium quality mead made from the best honey sourced meticulously from beehives. Arkä means ‘extract’ in Sanskrit and the mead undergoes a slow fermentation process before it is packed in our customized bottles. Considering how mead has been an integral part of Indian lifestyle and hospitality since ancient times, we have endeavored to recreate that legacy with the best of ingredients and environment-friendly manufacturing and packaging. For instance, for Arkä, we have used specialized corking which is carbon negative with micro-oxygenation which helps age the mead and deliver an unmatched taste experience to our customers.”
Hill Zill Wines has made use of PlantCorc technology, which is a renewable plant-based polymers generated from sugarcane, to make cork closure used for Arkä.
Speaking about the product, Deepak Bhatnagar, Chairman & CEO, Hill Zill Wines, said, “We are super excited to bring the Arkä range to customers in Karnataka. The state is the second-largest producer of fermented beverages after Maharashtra and the large millennial population residing in major cities such as Bengaluru is quite receptive to good quality alcoholic beverages. There is a cosmopolitan culture in India’s Silicon Valley, and it is steadily transforming the consumer patterns and preferences across other major cities and towns across the state.’’
Hill Zill Wines focuses on producing drinks for people who wish to enjoy good experiential drinking. Fruzzanté, the company’s brand is also set for launch in Karnataka this year. The company aims to create its market in all major metros in the next 5 years and start exporting their Made in India wines too.
