      GEA has showcased the latest developments in the field of vibratory conveying and dosing at the POWTECH trade fair last week under the slogan “Pow(d)erful Expertise”. GEA had developed a comprehensive portfolio for vibratory feeders whose transport processes are optimally adapted to the properties of the respective products and can be cleaned even better.

      GEA Scan-Vibro Loss-In-Weight (LIW) Feeder System FES for High Industry Standards

      Among the products on display will be GEA’s new solution for dosing from 0.5-100 kg/h, the GEA Scan-Vibro Loss-In-Weight (LIW) dosing system FES. The easy-to-operate and low-maintenance system is designed for dosing ingredients and additives in the food, dairy, chemical and other industries.

      With the LIW dosing system, the entire feeder, hopper and material are continuously weighed via high-precision load cells, and the discharge flow information is delivered to the dosing control system with a Human Machine Industry Interface (HMI dashboard). Users can operate the system as a stand-alone system or control it via Ethernet IP from the Scada central process control system.

      The GEA LIW system can be supplied together with a bag emptying station or integrated into process lines. The LIW units are designed for batch and continuous operation. They are tailored to specific customer requirements, such as hygiene levels and are available in different automation levels. The feed section can be designed with an open or closed conveyor.

      Main features of the GEA Scan-Vibro Loss-In-Weight (LIW) dosing system FES (with additional features and options as required):
      • Loss-in-weight dosing application from 0.5 kg/hr (500 g/hr) to 100 kg/hr;
      • Designed for high hygiene applications and industrial applications;
      • Compatible communication with a wide range of PLC systems;
      • Compliance with USDA 3A, EHEDG or NZFSA on request;
      • Rugged, low maintenance, designed for batch and continuous operation;
      • Easy to clean.
