The prestigious FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Awards (FLIA) were presented today at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2025. Trade visitors to the leading trade show for the global fresh produce business voted for the most innovative products of the year. This year’s coveted FLIA was won by the Onix orange from AMFRESH. The stunning orange is characterized by its beauty, versatility and resilience. The FLIA Technology Innovation Awards by FRUIT LOGISTICA went to Fermata for Croptimus, an innovative image analysis technology for the early detection of diseases and pests in greenhouses.
Groundbreaking innovations for the industry
The trade visitors eagerly awaited the announcement of the winners. Five nominated companies each presented their developments, which were evaluated in a public vote. The award-winning innovations are characterized by their groundbreaking features and set new standards for the fruit and vegetable industry.
Onix-Orange wins the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award
FRUIT LOGISTICA trade visitors had two days to vote for their favorite innovation. With an impressive share of the vote, Onix Orange won the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award 2025. The fruit impresses with its extraordinary coloring – from bright flaming orange to deep burgundy red – as well as its juicy, naturally pigmented flesh with an intense flavor. Its high antioxidant and vitamin content is particularly noteworthy. Grown in Spain, the Onix orange offers an impressive shelf life. The innovation comes from Germany, while AMFRESH Spain Citrus markets the fruit as a “sustainable citrus wonder” for premium consumers.
“This is fantastic! We have this amazing, out-of-this-world fruit that is grown in the sunny orchards of Spain, and being able to deliver that to the world is such a gift. To win this award is a tremendous recognition for the breeder, the grower, and for everyone at Amfresh and Genesis Fresh.”
Patricia Sagarminaga, Global Director, Marketing and Communications, Amfresh Group
Croptimuswins the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award Technology
More than half of the votes cast for FLIA technology went to Croptimus from Fermata Technology. This image analysis technology enables farmers to detect diseases or pest infestations on vegetables in the greenhouse at an early stage. As software as a service (SaaS), Croptimus requires no additional hardware and can work with both installed cameras and smartphone images. According to the manufacturer, the innovation from Israel promises up to 50% less scouting effort, 30% less crop loss, and 25% less input consumption – a sustainable and efficient solution for agriculture.
“I feel amazing. It’s my first time at FRUIT LOGISTICA, and I’m very impressed by the scale and quality of the event. We are privileged to be part of it and to be recognized by it as well.“
Valeria Kogan, Founder, and CEO, Fermata
