In a joint initiative, Elopak, one of the world’s leading suppliers of carton packaging and filling machines, and Kompak Nederland BV, a leading European co-filler in the home and personal care sector, are bringing sustainable carton packaging for home and personal care products to life.

The partnership has resulted in the creation of a D-PAK showroom at the Kompak site in Etten-Leur, the Netherlands. On-site, both existing and potential customers will have the opportunity to experience the revolutionary D-PAK carton packaging solution for home and personal care products such as detergents, household cleaning and liquid soaps—from design and handling to actual filling.

The new showroom is directly adjacent to the production area and features interactive stations that vividly convey the versatility, sustainability and marketing potential of D-PAK—including a multimedia ‘wall of cartons,’ design samples and information on the life cycle of the packaging.

For a seamless production on-site, two Elopak filling lines were installed at Kompak, with a third to follow later in the year. This setup enables high flexibility and fast market launches—a key advantage for brands that want to switch to sustainable packaging.

Elopak’s D-PAK gable top carton is part of the company’s “Repackaging Tomorrow” strategy designed to reduce the proportion of plastic packaging in the market for home and personal care products and gradually replace it with sustainable carton packaging.

“In a world dominated by digital touchpoints, the desire for tangible experiences is stronger than ever—even in B2B. With the showroom for D-PAK cartons, we want to create trust and offer an exciting new experience.”

      – Dirk Endlich, Vice President P2C (Plastic to Carton) at Elopak.

D-PAK cartons reduce the amount of plastic by up to 80 percent compared to conventional packaging such as pouches or plastic bottles—with no compromise on safety or functionality. The packaging can be used both as primary packaging and as a refill solution.

“We see huge potential for the D-PAK™ carton. It is highly functional, sustainable and cost-effective. With D-PAK™ cartons, you can streamline processes, cut costs and explore new markets.”

      – Geert Buijsman, CEO of Kompak.

With the showroom and the integrated Elopak filling technology, both companies now offer a comprehensive ‘one-stop shop’ to support brands on their sustainability journey.
