Doritos unveiled Doritos 3D Crunch, another level variants of the original Doritos 3D’s launched in the late 1990s to immense fanfare. The brand is turning back the same lavish product and exemplary three-dimensional shape but with increased boldness and spiciness in the taste – just in an attempt to incorporate some much-required multi-dimensional fun to the Holiday season and New Year.
Since its launch in 1998, the product became a fan favourite immediately, rising to the limelight by the catchy ‘Laundromat’ Super Bowl advertisement starring actress Ali Landry. Regarded as the bona fide ‘Doritos Girl’, Landry played a vital role to make public the new three-dimensional shape and flavour to households across the nation — making it one of the most triumphant product creations of the brand. Disposed-off gradually in the early 2000s, pan-nation patrons have been insisting to bring it back since then.
In the observance of the delicacy, the brand is using the original product and attempting to make it more exciting than before. With the similar three-dimensional shape, it can be availed in two bold flavours named Spicy Ranch and Chili Cheese Nacho. These mouth-watering treats are Frito-Lay’s most recent diversification in the hot-and-spicy food segment, one of the quickest-evolving sectors in the food industry.
Rachel Ferdinando, SVP and CMO, Frito-Lay North America stated- “Doritos 3D Crunch is one of our most awaited product launches in the history. What’s thrilling is that we did not just usher back to the original, but have modified it such that it represents the snacking trends of a contemporary generation. We are glad to launch a new variant at a time when we all could use a little moment of merriness.”
The brand is once again joining forces with Landry to unveil a challenge across the country. Commemorating the bona fide ‘Laundromat’ commercial, Landry will ask patrons to catch it in their mouth in the most eye-striking styles possible.
