Delhi-based shared kitchen initiative Kitchens Centre, which is presently running more than 35 ready-to-move-in kitchens across 15 cities in India, will use the sponsorships to boost up the functions and intensify into newer markets in the country.
The Indian shared kitchen startup, Kitchens Centre has secured an undisclosed fund in a Pre Series A funding round led by an early-stage venture capital firm, Village Global. It should be noted the early-stage venture capital firm is supported by business honchos including Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Eric Schmidt.
The company previously raised $500,000 in a seed round from Angel List India.
The funds received will be utilized for bolstering up the functions and expanding into newer markets in our country. Kitchens Centre is presently operating 35+ ready-to-move-in kitchens throughout 15 cities for food and FMCG (Fast-moving consumer goods) brands.
Started in 2019 by Lakshay Jain, Kitchens Centre is a shared kitchen initiative that offers infrastructure and technology solutions and a lot fore more to online food and FMCG brands. With the stratagem of building ready-to-move-in kitchens, Kitchens Centre provides several key advantages to brand partners with the fully equipped kitchen.
The initiative started operations with two sites in Delhi and over the course of one year, it has diversified to more than 35 locations in 15 cities throughout the nation. It functions with 50+ food and beverages firms such as Biryani Blues, Choko La, Cross Border Kitchen, Fat Lulu’s, Maalgaadi by Dhaba Estd 1986, Mamagoto, Nirula’s, Sleepy Owl, The Masala Story by Punjabi by Nature, and numerous more.
The company is deciding to broaden further by including over 90 new locations and 550 units by the coming year. Presently, the startup is operating 100,000 sq. ft space with the assistance and hard work of about 50 team members.
