Debopriyo Sen has been appointed as national head of sales by Tamara Leisure Experiences. Sen holds more than 15 years of expertise in sales, strategic planning, marketing and team management with major hospitality brands such as Marriott, Starwood, Taj, and ITC Hotels.

A proficient and passionate sales and marketing professional, Sen is acclaimed for his business insights and owns a track record of consistent learning and growth. His communication and leadership skills amalgamated with his passion for the industry has made him to rise steadily within the hospitality sector.

His key responsibilities at the hotel will mainly include planning and implementation of the group’s sales strategy across its three brands i.e. Tamara Luxury Resorts, O by Tamara and Lilac.

Before becoming a part of the Tamara group, Sen was working with ITC Hotels as their head of sales and marketing for ITC Gardenia, Bangalore for the last two and half years.

After completing his PGDM in operations and marketing, Sen began his career as a relationship manager at the Taj Group. His eleven year long journey to the position of director of sales and marketing in the Taj involved immense hard work and a result oriented approach in diverse leadership roles across the group’s regional sales office and iconic properties such as the Taj Fisherman’s Cove and Taj Coromandel.

In his spell with Starwood and Marriott as the director of sales & marketing, Sen’s role was pivotal in reinforcing the overall image and positioning of the Westin in Chennai between 2015 and 2018.

Popular amongst his clients and team for his amiable personality and professional approach, Sen firmly believes in the proverb, ‘A day spent without learning, is a day wasted’.

In addition to his passion for the industry, he also loves music, a good game of badminton and a long drive with his family.
