Denmark-based Multinational Company, Danfoss is introducing a new group structure by merging its heating and cooling segments. The new segment named Climate Solutions will aim on creating integrated energy efficient solutions to engineer an improved and sustainable future. The merger is backed by the company’s robust growth in 2020, despite the COVID-19 challenges, with an optimistic approach and high investment towards the green agenda and digital transformation.
Anuraaga Chandra, who earlier looked after the Cooling Sales will now be the Head India Sales for Climate Solutions and shall report to Ravichandran Purushothaman, President of Danfoss India. This restructuring also depicts the company’s advance for more regional empowerment and facilitating its regional leadership to be closer to customers and thus meliorating its customer-centric approach towards ‘India4India’ innovation and engineering.
India’s transformation across the global mega-trends of electrification, digitalisation, urbanisation, climate change and food supply are strengthening by the day. In this view, the company stays committed to deepening its industry relevance and expanding the scope for innovation and sustainability for its patrons and partners.
Kim Fausing, president and CEO of Danfoss stated- “Danfoss underscores consistent investment in future growth, thereby improving our future readiness. Our target is to set up and develop global leading businesses and market positions to hasten up the growth and remain a credible pillar of support for our customers.”
The merger will unbolt a huge potential for the company to leverage the combined scale, resources and technology of both businesses to become a worldwide player with an unparalleled value proposition across industries and a green agenda that will impart fresh enthusiasm the economy.
There are firm strategic rationales for combining the two segments, as 40% of all energy consumption in cities is utilized for cooling and heating. With growing urbanisation and global focus on green transition, it provides a huge potential for offering integrated energy-efficient solutions required to deliver on the targets in the ‘Paris agreement’ and the nation’s sustainability goals.
Ravichandran Purushothaman, president of Danfoss India mentioned- “The introduction of the Danfoss Climate Solutions segment in India will strengthen our thought leadership in the market and generate newer avenues to emphasize the role of the Indian industry in accomplishing global climate targets. Our vision is to support India’s transition to a decarbonized economy with world-class technology that is created, manufactured and marketed in India.”
With this merger, the company intends to introduce a wider array of products/solutions, centralized marketing, and regional tech assistance for its customers to allow them to move quicker towards the adoption of the green agenda. The company also desires to augment the company’s footprint across the geographies of world countries and recognize opportunities for cross-selling among its customers.
