Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries (DBSIL) is stepping into the business-to-consumer (B2C) segment and has declared the launch of its packaged sugar under the brand name “Dalmia Utsav”. They intend to offer high-quality sugar to consumers by using a top-notch and eco-friendly production process.
To start with, it plans to unveil ‘sulfur-free’ white crystal sugar and natural brown sugar in branded packets and sachets across 12 states and Union territories.
The products can be purchased from top e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Big Basket, and Flipkart, as well as from offline stores too. The company desires to have its presence across the nation and launch new sugar variants such as icing sugar in addition to other core Fast-moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) products. To assist in the production process, DBSIL stated that the unit has undergone a few up-gradations such as setting up of the latest Ion exchange.
The company is planning to produce and dispatch the estimated quantity of about 250-300 tons of sugar by the end of March. The company has also employed a state-of-the-art integrated production line for branded/specialized sugar.
This transition will boost the company’s evolution from commodity to brand space, evolving the DNA of the business that would in turn improve value for all the stakeholders, DBSIL further added.
