Beverage giant, Coca Cola India has committed to raise funds worth Rs 50 crore towards facilitation of COVID-19 vaccination and providing safety kits which will benefit around 10 lakh people.
“As efforts accelerate nationwide to provide relief from the devastation of the second wave of the coronavirus, Coca-Cola in India has committed INR 50 crore to augment the nation’s effort in combating the crisis and containing the spread of the pandemic,” the company mentioned in a statement.
The initial contribution of Rs 50 crore is to facilitate COVID vaccination, providing safety kits, creating awareness, and distributing beverages to the country’s front line, to positively impact over 10 lakh Indians, it declared.
To stand in support of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has come up with a special “Stop the Spread” fund globally. This fund will be channelized towards facilitating vaccine distribution, COVID safety kits (which includes PPE – masks, gloves, sanitizer) and creating awareness around vaccination and sanitary practices to limit the spread of this deadly pandemic.
Apart from its direct response, Coca-Cola India’s bottling partners have arranged vaccination camps, assisted community kitchens, offered relief material and ambulance support, donated mobile COVID beds, ventilators and oxygen concentrators throughout the country.
