Coca-Cola is working towards doubling its investments in Telangana. Currently, a plant in Ameenpur has already been set up by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. After a meeting with a delegation led by IT & Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao in New York, Coca Cola had announced its future investment plans for expansion in the state of Telangana. Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce department Jayesh Ranjan, Special Secretary, Investment Promotion & NRI Affairs, E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Director Food Processing Akhil Gawar were present at the meeting with James McGreevy in New York. In 2020, an investment of INR 142 crores was made by Coca-Cola towards expansion of the Ameenpur plant. The construction is expected to be complete by December 2024. The company also plans to invest in a second green field manufacturing facility, which is of a similar scale in Karimnagar/ Warangal region. An additional investment of INR 647 crores has been planned by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. towards the greenfield plant that is already under construction in Siddipet, which takes the company’s total investment in this plant to INR 1647 crores in the State.
On April 7, 2022, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. had signed an MoU to establish a new greenfield plant at Banda Thimmapur, Siddipet. With this new facility, Coca Cola’s investments in manufacturing capacities is set to exceed INR 2,500 crores. As per a statement issued by the office of IT & Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao, this is one of the fastest capacity expansions by Coca-Cola in recent times.
According to the company, this will be one of the fastest expansions by Coca-Cola in recent times. Further, it also stated that the support received from the Telangana government, quick execution of their plant under construction and strong growth in the region have encouraged the company to grow their investments in the Telangana region.
