Aptar has recently announced that it has been named one of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2024 by TIME. Aptar is ranked 194 out of top 500 global companies evaluated by TIME and its partner Statista.

Read: June Issue of Food Infotech Magazine.

“Aptar is honored to be part of TIME’s inaugural list of the World’s Most Sustainable companies which reflects our transparent data reporting and continued commitment to advancing sustainable practices. As a global company with a presence in 20 countries, a strong, overarching Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) strategy is a business imperative. Our efforts to source more renewable energy, certify more of our sites as landfill free and develop products that are more recyclable, reusable, refillable and made with more sustainable materials not only contributes to better outcomes for people and our planet, but serves as a competitive advantage.”

Stephan B. Tanda, Aptar President and CEO

For this recognition, the ranking process included a selection from over 5,000 of the world’s largest and most influential companies, taking into account factors such as revenue, market capitalization and public prominence. TIME, in partnership with Statista, selected the top 500 companies based on a multi-step process and more than 20 key data points that evaluated Carbon Disclosure Project scores, GRI and SASB reporting, emissions and energy intensity, employee turnover, safety and more.

As outlined in Aptar’s 2023 Corporate Sustainability/ESG Report, the company has made considerable progress advancing key areas of its global sustainability strategy. Aptar achieved the prestigious EcoVadis Platinum level rating in recognition of its sustainability efforts for the fourth consecutive year, placing the company among the top 1% of the more than 125,000 companies rated across all industries. The company was also named a CDP Supplier Engagement Leader for the fourth consecutive year, placing Aptar among 450 companies based on our 2023 CDP disclosure; cited for its contributions to emissions reductions throughout the value chain.

Aptar also partners with organizations such as the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Aptar serves as an active member of the CE100 Network and a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact. In partnership with these organizations, and as part of Aptar’s focus on circularity, the company aims to include 10% recycled resin content and achieve 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable solutions in its personal care, beauty, home care and food and beverage solutions by the end of 2025.
