Pandey stated- “Over the years, India has been constant in its battle against hunger and malnutrition. We have the biggest food-aid programme in the world via public distribution system. We have especially enhanced our attempts to deliver food to millions of people from needy communities during this pandemic situation. We are further targeting on maternal health, child nutrition and well-being via programmes like Poshan Abhiyaan. I applaud PHDCCI, Amway India and Mamta HIMC for bringing thoughtful leaders on a single platform. I candidly feel that it is the need of the hour for everyone to come and work collectively to do something about malnutrition and its principal causes in all forms.”
Anshu Budhraja, CEO of Amway India declared- “World Food Day 2020 has come under unusual situations. In the view of the ongoing pandemic, the theme for this year, ‘Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together’ is more pertinent than ever. Amway has always been devoted to aid the community by coming forward in the face of adversity. In India, we had launched the ‘Power of Five’ in 2018. It is a community-based global drive to eradicate childhood malnutrition. With this drive, we target to use our boundless global experience in nutrition and wellness to contribute to the Government of India’s National Nutrition Mission to spike up the nutrition levels in the nation. I am glad to share that we saw colossal enhancement in the nutritional status of the children. The results lucidly exhibi the power of mobilising and strengthening communities at the grassroots level to assist them live a better and healthier life.”
